  1. There have been many times where the consumer is the butt of the joke when Tech Demo's allow for hype to grow. Nearly anything Ubisoft is guilty of that, but the consumer is also just as guilty for buying into a product that never existed. Im not sure there will be much buy-in on the matrix game, the movie is basically a full-blown middle finger to Hollywood exec's at the consumers expense. There are a lot of people who were pretty miffed at the movie for various reasons, so unless the game has a compelling campaign to shine past that then it may be a hard sell. I hope it does well as the efforts of those developing it should be rewarded based on their efforts and not solely judged on the work of others in other mediums.
  2. Completely fair conclusion. Very true the screenshots viewed here are under controlled scenarios (or at least from what I can recall)
  3. The first hour you are barely past the montage of getting acclimated with Night city. Let alone any NPC of note beyond Jackie. Comparing UE5 Tech Demo's to anything in practice is basically the basis of what is known as a mal-formed comparison.
  4. An issue that both games inhibit is game save corruptions and/or broken scripts for progressing a particular mission. Happy to learn about that beforehand so I backed up my game save to which I did end up having a save profile get corrupted maybe half way through
  5. We have added a better note, so when you see that link now it will provide some context. We are making some preparations to make the domain change but also taking the opportunity to lower some costs. Naturally that means making sure things run just as well as before we make that the live instance.
  6. We didnt save much from there as it didnt seem pertinent to chase that content down under the limited time we had.
  7. I think its mostly because in the sequences those were taken its in a controlled manner, mostly lighting (I think). Especially with the premier characters in the game. The game is far from perfect, but because who was devving it and the inclusion of Reeves as Silverhand likely sent hype through the roof. On my first play through I cracked up laughing quite a bit doing the side mission helping that family member "get justice", when I was chasing the police car, another car on the overpass fell over and when it hit the ground the car exploded. It wasnt a fire explosion it was like a dozen cars spawned from a single point and blew into every direction. Most hilarious session I had in a while
  8. Not splitting just providing context
  9. Last Pan Am screen is not a mission, but the end of the game. Last Judy is from her potential Romance or last time you see her.
  10. Thats the point, its none of their business what we do on our systems.
  11. I doubt the window dressing is going to get the same love and care as Judy does in her apartment
  12. Yep, definitely interested. This will motivate me to sell the rest of my wares and consolidate. Which I have been too busy lately to appropriately do.
  13. If were doing requests then I'd like a Pan Am screen!
  14. Yeah Im seriously considering this since there hasnt been any activity. Taking my car to the shop after work tomorrow, provided the expense isnt something crazy (replacing some old spliced cable) then I may just go ahead and get this. My ITX board is limited to 5x GPU's at present and I have 3 more to add to it :( Going to look it up and make sure it can serve my needs now, as I already know it can do everything I could feasibly think of outside of that. EDIT: It can handle 15 GPU's :D
  15. Glad to see you made it over
  16. They may not care about selling the forum database but that doesnt mean I want to invite lawsuits either, otherwise this would've already taken place. It may still happen in the future but at the moment we still have plenty of action items to work on. If there is potential to easily remove the imported threads/legacy forum then we may give it a shot. Otherwise we would be forced to shut down the forum due to not being able to purge the data effectively and I dont have a pocketbook large enough to tackle that in court. The addition of the other forums would've taken place regardless of any period of time invested before launching this forum.
  17. Sub-forum has been moved and notated just so I can update formally in the next announcement. As for petitioning TechTarget, thats not going to happen. They dont have any desire for the forums to begin with. We were lucky to have the cut off date extended and that I believe is solely due to efforts made by @Charles P. Jefferies to which I am eternally grateful. It would be more beneficial to determine whether or not its worth the risk of importing the "legacy" content into the forum.
  18. I think that is fair, I will make the necessary changes probably tomorrow.
  19. A contractor I was working with until recently (he quit) told me he spent like 5 grand on his desktop and was visibly angry that you dont need 1000w to run a 3090, or 128GB of sRAM to play Apex Legends. I mean if you have intention to use that power then more power to ya, but it just seems more wasteful than typical ePeen allowance. Im not sure where people get the crazy high numbers for their power requirements though. seems an oddity, but maybe thats due to me building ITX or using laptops. Its actually been a looooooong time since I used a Full Tower.
  20. While the above is locked strictly for the announcements, discussion can be had here. I will begin doing this going forward. Happy Posting!
  21. Good Evening (or Morning?) everyone! There seems to be a little concern regarding what more we can do to encourage additional membership to the forums, I share some of those concerns of course considering mine and @Hiew's time and fiscal investment we have put in thus far. Of course would like for the forum to thrive as well, so we have some ideas on how to facilitate the first and most important element. You all! Chapter 1 First, some small things to get out of the way. I cant be counted on to have amazing idea's to put forth for the forum all the time and there will be some things that I may not see the merit for, key word being "seeing". There will be times where the community may need to get the point across, we have something in place for that, and I may enhance it a bit to give it proper exposure if need be. Site Suggestion Polls has been put in place. Now, I must stress this item. This is for the community and its individual members to put forth the best argument they can towards what they would like to have put in place. With that in mind, structure your argument and make it as clear as possible. The Site Suggestion Polls require approval before the threads will be created. If it looks to be anything but a genuine request for the forum to consider it will be rejected. Keep in mind that Site Suggestions arent limited to the Suggestion Box that @cucubits so kindly created in the earliest phase of the forum. You may use that sub-forum to better formulate an idea you may have amongst other members or the staff. Then make your pitch in the Site Suggestion Poll. Chapter 2 For the efforts made with the NBRchive, I have bestowed @Aaron44126, @Sandy Bridge, and @Hiew with the badge "Custodian of History". I know they didnt do it for acclaim or anything, but it should still be rewarded, in however meager way that I could that would stay with them, and can only be awarded manually. I recently spoke with Hiew, and he was quite baffled that most of his internet sleuthing regarding a Mobile Precision he was working with all roads led back to NoteBookReview. If not for the actions of the aforementioned, all that trial and error that eventually came to be known as knowledge would've been lost. Chapter 3 - How we may stand apart I have seen some rumblings about additional means to provide content to encourage additional membership to these forums. I must confess I haven't been able to put the time in that I originally intended. I have begun making some Framework for the first project that I have in mind. I will be reaching out to various members (provided they have time and are willing). I dont want to share too much at this stage, but know that we are working on something that I believe will set us apart from anything else, at the very least, that I have witnessed thus far. We may release an alpha stage product just so we can start cataloguing to later update as we learn more about what the forum's software can provide for us. Some of you are quite keen on keeping the momentum going, and I do appreciate that! Knowing where we come from, I do appreciate everyone's patience. Chris P.S. Announcement Discussion can be had here.
  22. There is always diminishing returns as you run up the mountain. You would likely need to sell your current machine and then keep an eye out for a used listing. That or buy into the x170 and build it up over time. I have been liking what Lenovo has been putting out the past few years and it may be closer to what you might be looking for in terms of form factor. It would also help if you use the template so that people can properly look at the outlets you may or likely to consider buying from and pitch a proper deal.
  23. Yes I can understand most of the struggle. Its a bit odd of a problem as those types of titles like to harken back to what I like to call Mega Man era titles where most of the time the deciding factor of how a "fight" boils down to timing and a high level of patience before you get to have that reward of victory. Where as many titles today like to give the user many abilities like in Mega Man X, where you can wall jump, choose different armors, and abilities are more pronounced. Tempo's increased as well, its why those titles stand out for its unapologetic nature. Lately I have been getting some of that through God Of War with battling the Valkyries, the Queen soundly kicked my butt for a few hours before I put the game down to come work on more things for the forum.
