  1. Yep, saw this. And gamer Nexus also put thie in their newest Youtube video. A good job from Arctic. Should hope some others learn from it. jaybee83 beat me while I added in more in my posts, LOOL Regarding cooling. I will ask for the replacement parts for my AC 420 then put it in the other desktop build. I just ordred a few cooling parts for my next cooling setup on the newer machine. And yep, the added tax+the awful monetary value here home make it more expensive than it has to be. There is n pc-parts shops here home have much cooling parts. Everything need to be bought outside the country. I will buy some more parts on the used market here home. As well re-use some parts I already have. Got delayed bithday present from my kids. They prefer that the old pa get an new modern "gaming" desk. I hope it is in somewhat black color. As the black box, LOOL And here's Todays Joke! Isn't it lovely? Is this a Joke or fake numbers? I don't know if I should cry or smile. If the results is real, then I will call the 8 cores Ryzen Zen 4 chips a failure. But failures sells in loads as you know (just look at all the new modern laptops flooding the market). Intel's half castrated 8 cores 12th gen Hybrid running 8 cores and with no babies (8P). Equal amount cores as the coming 8 Cores Ryzen Zen 4.
  2. High singel core boost is the new modern. Very important for laptops as they can't run very high all core boost equal desktops due their crippled cooling. No need for a good performing coolling for that task. All core boost is their main limitations. Pair it with hybrid boost (max out GPU) and the cooling can't keep both HW cold. And..... Aka swap over to desktops🙂
  3. Have fun 🙂 Maybe you'll see the 3.1GHz a few have seen for their graphics cards. Overclocker shares experience with Intel Arc A380 GPU overclocking to 3.1 GHz https://videocardz.com/newz/overclocker-shares-experience-with-intel-arc-a380-gpu-overclocking-to-3-1-ghz It appears that this low-end A380 GPU is not prone to shunt-modding, and neither the voltage controller data can be modified at this point. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nvidia and AMD Seriously Want to Offload Current-Gen GPUs By Tim Schiesser, August 22 TechSpot Hardware In the lead up to next-gen GPUs and current graphics card pricing discussion, there are still a few horrible deals, a few decent buys, and some news to talk about in our latest GPU pricing update. Higher-end cards like the RTX 3080 Ti and above will need more than tier below pricing to be worth recommending, too, given their extremely overinflated launch MSRPs. So none of these cards scream "buy" at the moment and we'd like to see at least another 20-30 percent price reduction before recommending you to purchase. Price drops have been too slow to keep up. Yep, and Msi even created a real 15,6 inch DTR laptop at that time with socketed Cpu and Gpu. But they throw it out the same door because all focus forwards was on slimmer Jokebooks for creators and gamers. All OEMs follow same paths forwards. All create the same slimy laptops but with a small change in the design.
  4. Titan have never been an option. MSI screwed up the model with the hybrid BGA solution. Either BGA Cpu or BGA graphics. Now a fully soldered on mess including Hybrid boost for huge premium. No thanks.
  5. Microsoft shares workarounds for broken audio on Windows 10 after KB5015878 neowin.com · 14 hours ago 10 Microsoft has confirmed that Windows updates released on August 9, 2022, caused audio issues on systems with Windows 10. The company has also shared solutions for the affected customers. The audio bug in KB5015878 affects only client Windows 10 versions 20H2, 21H1, and 21H2. It should not bother Windows 11 users, just like the recently confirmed BitLocker recovery bug does not affect Windows 10 customers.
  6. Microsoft Edge Is Now More Bloated Than Google Chrome howtogeek.com People love to rag on Google Chrome for being a bloated browser that eats up your computer’s resources. Well, Microsoft Edge has become even worse. It started out with good intentions, but Microsoft can’t help itself. They didn't need long time to destroy own browser.
  7. Maybe this below is the reason Intel bashed AMD hard for glued together processors? AMD was able to make it works but Intel failed hard with similar tech? Who stole who'm idea with glue as secret weapon in processor enginnering? Yep, the reason Intel bashed AMD for the same idea was because they themself failed so hard with same/similar tech. Intel.................. Why they failed From the article: It's a shame this triple chiplet design never came to the market. Cannon Lake was one of Intel's worst, if not the worst, architecture ever released, featuring a horrible implementation of Intel's first 10nm process (now rebranded to Intel 7), less than two years of support, and only one CPU supporting the architecture. Rare Intel Cannon Lake CPU Emerges With Three Chiplets A mysterious Intel Cannon Lake prototype processor has surfaced in the wild, rocking up to three chiplets. Hardware leaker YuuKi_AnS(opens in new tab) shared the images on Twitter, and CPU expert SkyJuice60(opens in new tab) detailed the third die's function.
  8. Yep, they have still some time to fix it. As you saw… Arc graphics architecture will also come to 14th gen glued on hybrid processors. Aka late 2023. Or maybe within 2024(if AMD follows same release schedule as they did for 5000 series Ryzen chips). You bought the budget model so you won’t lose a lot of money 🙂 And a lots of fun forwards if the Arc cards is good overclockers as some say.
  9. Intel try make their glued together processors (14th gen) more appealing for the power enthusiasts. Arc now also for iGPU. Intel bashed AMD hard for their HEDT TR processors (use of two different type dies). But themself will now glue 3 different silicon on one and same pcb substrate. Yep, they will even beat AMD regarding amount glued together piece of silicon. Because new refreshed iGPU is very important tech from Intel for tomorrows pc users..... Yep, Intel beat AMD with 3-2 for glued products, LOOL RUMOR 2022-08-20 08:57 Intel Meteor Lake iGPU might support ray tracing acceleration I hope bro @electrosoftwill keep his new Arch graphics cards long enough to enjoy Intel's new driver/software policy.... But installers issues won't fix loads of driver bugs/issues. Or does it?🙃 NEWS 2022-08-20 12:52 Intel reported 43 Arc GPU drivers issues from one Gamers Nexus review alone Intel Arc drivers will move to combined package later this year, “no more installers issues”.
  10. +1 week after release of latest Windows Update patch for 2019 LTSC and not many talk about major flaws with it. So here it is. August 9, 2022—KB5016623 (OS Build 17763.3287) 2019 LTSC Prerequisite: You "must" install the August 10, 2021 SSU (KB5005112) before installing the LCU. 11. Here’s another joke. But from Intel. https://videocardz.com/newz/intel-core-i9-13900k-reportedly-supports-extreme-350w-performance-mode-on-some-intel-700-series-motherboards
  12. Will you pair it with next gen Ryzen? Your're a patient man brother. Could be AMD have ruled out all bugs in the new platform after the rumored delay. At least it will be done before Zen 5 or the 3D-stacked refresh for Zen 4🙂 RUMOR 2022-08-17 10:21 Reviewer claims AMD delayed Ryzen 7000 launch by two weeks due to BIOS related issues videocardz.com https://hwbot.org/submission/5063135_papusan_3dmark_vantage___performance_geforce_gtx_760_(256bit)_50169_marks?recalculate=true https://hwbot.org/submission/5063138_papusan_3dmark___fire_strike_extreme_geforce_gtx_760_(256bit)_3656_marks?recalculate=true https://hwbot.org/submission/5063141_papusan_3dmark11___performance_geforce_gtx_760_(256bit)_11173_marks?recalculate=true
  13. Want to try it? 🙂 You can sell it if you don't like it. Or just return it within the return window. No miners want it so you probably have a good chance to grab one for testing. 2022-08-16 12:36 Intel Arc A380 desktop GPU is now officially available for preorder in the US https://hwbot.org/submission/5062414_papusan_3dmark___fire_strike_geforce_gtx_760_(256bit)_7547_marks?recalculate=true
  14. You are forced to buy bigger than needed ssd's for etc laptops. Thinner models, the worse. Some offer only one NVMe ssd slot. Put in a cheap smaller ssd and you are screwed once you find out you need/needed a bigger one. And most laptops top out with only 2 ssd slots. A bit better but stil bad (due the severe lack of upgradability).
  15. It seems Microsoft is very keen on taking over the job from nvidia and AMD. Intel have already given up dx9. All I can say… Relying on Microsoft is a bad idea. @AshtrixI know you prefer older games. Would you like that Microsoft takes all the work with dx9 ? According to Microsoft, with how performant D3D9On12 is, it will be interesting to see if Nvidia and AMD follow the same path as Intel. But, there could be consequences to the API translation, including higher CPU usage (since the translation is software accelerated) and potential side-effects with older games https://www.tomshardware.com/news/intel-xe-arc-swap-to-dx9-emulation
  16. I'm sure some (fanboys) will buy a old EOL AMD card if you aren't happy with it. I buy old cards bro Fox. Could be they would pay more than what you bought it for😀 More results from the old.... https://hwbot.org/submission/5060579_papusan_3dmark06_geforce_gtx_580_55016_marks?recalculate=true
  17. Still too much for old cards. But closer and closer your goal 🙂 AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT Graphics Cards Dip Below $700 tomshardware.com | Today Isn't Plum Bonito ? Or the cheaper HotPink Bonefish more tempting?
  18. Here's a nice pict of the small disgusting GPU heatsink. No pipes and only a small thin block of Alu. Aka no LM for this GPU. The cooling design for this 650 Ti is on level with what DELL's Thermal Engineering Technologist Travis North would prefer 😄Even the component choices is rigth out from Dell's tech bible, LOOL Edit. First bench out from GTX 650 Ti..... https://hwbot.org/submission/5059844_papusan_aquamark_geforce_gtx_650_ti_495197_marks?recalculate=true New fresh thermal paste didn't help much. Improved a bit only for idle clocks. I expect the wimpy thin small Alu heatsink block can't handle more heat tranfair from the Gpu die under full load. Aka the cooling is already fully saturated with heat and the fans can't remove it fast enouh from the block in full load. Yep, Dell cooling design at it worst. Cheapo and flawed.
  19. Buying a used mining GPU rewards the people who ruined PC gaming pcworld.com Yep, but if you buy new cards you rewards Nvidia and it's partners as AIB and reatail shops. This is a choice between pest and Cholera. But if all people out there buy used cards, this will help to stop nvidia and its partners to max out profits. In th end if they can't sell all cards as hoped then we will see prices on new cards below MSRP. And they know whom bought up all the 3000 series cards with vram bigger than 4GB. Hence they tried offer cheapo card from old gens to the gamers that couldn't get the new Ampere cards. A rumored drop around 50% in sales will hurt them where it feels best. Let e'm all bleed money..... Both on 3000 and 4000 series cards. Nvidia allegedly directly helping AIBs get rid of Ampere stock in exchange for "big pre-purchases" of RTX 40 series boards Btw. New pict of the new old baby (GTX 650Ti@2GB). A real baby card. Only my Nvidia GT 705 OEM is smaller than this black beauty. And as usual... No money to Nvidia. All black as usual bro @electrosoft 🙂 Yep even with a nice black PCB. Yep, never repasted. I wonder what the temps will be with 10 years old thermal paste. The alu cooler is one of the smallest I have seen and even worse designed than anything you get in new modern Jokebooks. Edit. The new old baby card in his new home for temp testing (10 years old paste).
  20. GPU Shipments May Drop by 50%, Nvidia Braces for Long Winter Tomshardware.com | Yesterday Nvidia also expects to take a big hit, thanks to both the post-pandemic drop in demand and the major cryptocurrency crash earlier this year. Taiwanese graphics card suppliers estimate their 2022 shipments will fall by between 40 - 50%, and sources cited by Digitimes say this will cause Nvidia's revenue to fall "at a pace beyond imagination." Digitimes should be one of the most reliable sources regarding news from tech industri. Nvidia.................... AMD will steal more sales from Intel and Nvidia... They ride two horses (Cpu's/Gpu's). Hence they won't race down the drain in a pace as Nvidia and Intel. Welcome to reality.
  21. But isn't it cute? Prosumers/corporate that need 100% security for every day tasks needs to diasable SMT technology (HT) on all later Ryzen chips. I remember when the fanboys on the Red side bashed Intel for similar vulnerability flaws. And said this would never happen if you bought newer AMD chips due they was properly engineered, LOOL SQUIP games: A serious AMD Ryzen flaw can only be fixed by slowing the CPU down "So in order to mitigate the vulnerability, SMT technology needs to be disabled, and that means a significant blow to the chip’s performance" New vulnerability in AMD Ryzen CPUs could seriously jeopardize performance Yep...............
  22. Same hash = Same file. Of course this needed file should be in this thread as well 🙂
  23. Right on time before Intel and AMD release new processors. It's amazing how they can find new flaws at correct time. New security patches will always arrive right before new HW will be released. Like clockwork. Security vulnerabilities found in Intel and AMD processors by Martin Brinkmann on Aug 10, 2022 in Security - Last Update: Aug 10, 2022 - 0 Security researchers have discovered vulnerabilities in Intel and AMD processors that may lead to information disclosure. Most Intel 10th, 11th and 12th generation processors are affected by a new vulnerability that the Most Intel 10th, 11th and 12th generation processors are affected by a new vulnerability that the researchers have named ÆPIC Leak. The vulnerability is an architectural bug according to the researchers, which sets it apart from Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities that have haunted Intel and AMD in the past years. AMD Zen 2 and 3 processors are affected by a security vulnerability that the researches named SQUID. It is a side channel attack that is targeting CPU schedulers. New Vulnerability Affects All AMD Zen CPUs: Threading May Need to Be Disabled tomshardware.com
  24. Grabbed 16th place and was rewarded with 1 extra boint for 980Ti in GPUi 3.2 - 1B 🙂 Running 1708 on the Gpu cores. When I have the time I will try out a few other drivers to see how far this will go. https://hwbot.org/submission/5058225_papusan_gpupi___1b_geforce_gtx_980_ti_16sec_687ms
