haha ok, i stand corrected! with those extended timelines in mind, a 36s time saver really translates into palpable differences, glad u were able to test it out 🙂 looking forward to the screenies mate

how are they going to know if u opened up the machine if its just for switching out ram? shouldnt be too difficult, unless they have a flipped mobo design where ud have to disassemble everything. in general though i wouldnt expect much of a real world impact coupled with that CPU.

haha nice ure enjoying it! although i guess it depends on the type of game ure playing (fast paced or not), ur internet connection and also ur sensitivity towards input lag.

What phone are you daily driving currently?

thats one thing u gotta respect Samsung for: their update policy is even better than Google's! 😄 -

so both the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra and the ROG Phone 6 were bummers, either due to looks, abysmal camera performance or too much bling bling / gamer looks. also, both companies are not really known for their great android update policies, ugh.... so for now ill be patiently waiting for the Pixel 7 series to launch in October, i think thatll finally be the right moment to retire my Mate 20 X. its quite frustrating to be honest, u either get great hardware (i.e. giant screen, current SoC and huge battery) OR u get awesome android update policies, but NOT BOTH! like.....why? *sigh* -

...and then they refresh it halfway with a 4090 Ti Ultra 🤣 there have been some updates though, including switch from aluminum to copper. not sure about the current state though: -

btw bro @Mr. Fox i was just thinking of you whilst watching the latest vid by Roman, hes showing off TG's upcoming direct die frame incl a matching EK waterblock for Alder Lake, supposedly also compatible with Raptor Lake (starts at around 13:50): -

if its only restricted to national usage, that could be realistic. i remember back in singapore they also had crazy offers like that, 100GB+ for like 10 bucks but only nationally (with SG being a city-state, thats not really much area covered lol)

nice, they definitely have a fixed spot on my build shopping list 😋 -
quite the depressing perspective if you ask me 😅if this trend continues, our forum will be more reminiscing about "the good ol days" and keeping classic, EOL DTRs alive rather than discussing current tech (aside from bitchin about it, of course lol)

well, naturally, drivers will stop being optimized for older os plus newer hardware wouldnt be supported anymore. i think the aspect we mostly despise is increased telemetry and junk running in the background / causing additional OS bloat without actually being actively utilized by the user.

Janktop IV Sneak Peek (open source MINI ITX Laptop)
jaybee83 replied to StripeySnake's topic in Custom Builds
yep, no need for an additional monitor and yep again, main limitation for egpu performance is bus bandwith and latency, add to that the sometimes anemic nature of the mobile cpu in question, which cannot keep up with the monster desktop cards... -
what makes u say that? will we thus end up with two crappy OS versions in a row instead of alternations? 😂

yessssssss, lets get all those NBR refugees united again under the new NBT roof. glad you found us, enjoy the new fledgling forum! we can use all the help we can get 🙂

dude are those 18(!) fans im counting?! LOL what kinda case is that? here i thought i was the only one nuts enough to go with 14 fans (17 if gpu ends up watercooled or if you count the three gpu shroud fans when aircooled) in the build im planning 😂😁👌🏼 -
anyone uses nvidia inspector. is 1981.beta the latest.?
jaybee83 replied to raptorddd's topic in General Discussion
im actually using nvidia inspector to generate a batch file that i automatically run at windows startup. the batch file forces the 980M to lowest possible voltages and clocks no matter the load (completely fine for desktop usage) and thus severely limits its power usage. i manually tested what kinda clocks i can get away with, if u go too low u start seeing graphical glitches and/or stutters. -
give them some time to expand, theyre barely getting off the ground atm. im routing for them and what they stand for, lets hope this is the start of something grand 🙂

they actually have an LTSC build available, if u wanna check that out: https://phoenixliteos.com/19044-1566-LTSC-Plus/ as for Win11, the closest to LTSC would be the latest Pro Plus build: https://phoenixliteos.com/22621-169Plus/

i absolutely insist on delidding that chip! 😃✌🏼 btw, new upload from GN comparing the TG contact frame at 35 bucks vs. Thermalright frame at 4.35 bucks from AliExpress *lulz* surprisingly, they are statistically performing the same even though tolerances on the TR frame are way higher. however, installation needs much more finesse and skill to get it just right.
