  1. haha dont let up, get on their nerves! lettem know there are customers out there that want them to shut up and take their money! 😄 did some more testing, restricting the cpu to 45W doesnt make a difference for the GPU, still stuck at 130W. on the other hand, was able to push the CPU to 145W peak in CB, albeit at the cost of the machine shutting off due to overheating LOL. guess ill have to lower the PROCHOT option in TS from 100 to 98C to prevent such from happening again haha 😛 gpu stays cool though, max ive seen so far was 74-75C after repeated superposition runs. as for the battery life, i managed to implement an automatic power plan switching when disconnecting the AC adapter. that, coupled with some TS tweaks to limit cpu power and lowering screen brightness lets me eke out roughly 4.5-5 hours total runtime. not bad, especially considering that at stock ud get more like 1.5-2.5 hours lol
  2. https://eurocom.com/configure(2,404,0)ec you were saying....? ðŸĪ
  3. as @papusan just mentioned, would be interesting to see how the arctic would fare with the corsair fans and vice versa. iirc the arctic rad is much thicker than its corsair colleague, so that leaves the pump and the fans as variables....unless of course the fin density is significantly different between the two rads? or the arctic cold plate is somehow skewed... in any case, congratz on that "open box" deal! 🙂
  4. naaaaaaaaais! and yeah those import taxes sure do hurt shopping sprees outside the EU haha 😛 let us know how it goes with the install and most importantly: how it performs ;)
  5. in the end this is more of an aesthetic thing, those stains will not interfere with cooling capabilities in the least 🙂
  6. possible for you to post your Bios/EC and vBios, while youre at it? I also uploaded my stuff 🙂 vBios is version 94.04.7F.00.87 Bios/EC: https://mega.nz/file/0TRXiQxK#vP047_mh9EzO_tDR6Kw1Fc6F6PCsjUQzGid8OFUDqkM vBios: https://mega.nz/file/4awFhApL#dxVDO68AMSEqMlY7HUox0bs6wq-c7lsemxwcaJZZPdE GPU is kinda interesting in my case, it hits around 1380-1500 Mhz with some super small spikes to 1785 Mhz here and there, seems to be temperature related. running unigine superposition in 8K optimized its constantly at around 130W total GPU power. i could maybe try and restrict the CPU power to check and see if the gpu would reach higher. btw, i should probably mentioned that ive got the XtremeG modded desktop drivers 512.59 installed. maybe that makes a difference: edit: did some more tweaking with TS, seems like i can restrict CPU power via clock modulation option, which allows me to drag it down to max. 15-18W. also, max. CPU power ive seen so far was 130W, was able to up the thermal throttling limit a bit to 90+C (with PROCHOT set to 100C).
  7. if i remember correctly, FN+D resets the bios (equivalent to a cmos pull), whereas FN+B reads the bios file from the usb stick. however, im not sure if u need to rename the bios file to a certain format for it to be recognized properly or not....
  8. sounds good. might be able to use the clevo Fn+B forced bios flash function before the system starts freaking out. otherwise, it might really be the mobo.
  9. it should. but if there is something corrupted in there the reset wouldnt do much.
  10. only option i could think of would be flashing directly to the chip...
  11. thats good info @gpu is working. might be a dumb question, but: has this GPU worked before in this machine? or is this a new upgrade? aside from that, can u also test all ram sticks and the cpu in another machine?
  12. in that case its likely a defective component... based on probability of failure id wager either gpu or mobo. are u still in warranty? can also try a cmos pull / bios reset, but i doubt thatll change anything...
  13. hmmm....could be several different things, actually. here is what u could test: - reseat CPU, GPU and RAM. make sure heatsink makes proper contact and that all contact pins are clean / intact. - test with only one stick of RAM. try it in different RAM slots. - check that all fans are connected and functioning properly.
  14. looks like PCS customized version: Bios - 1.07.01TPCS (dated 11-Jan-2022) EC - 1.07.01 ME FW - 16.0.15.1620 could you re-confirm with your versions and dates for comparison? heatplate contact should at least not be slanted, since the cpu cores are within 2-4C of each other in terms of temps. however, ill do another check to ensure that the plate is actually close enough to the HS to apply sufficient pressure. no mux option in the bios, unfortunately. the bios is pretty barren overall, cant do much... preliminary findings after some initial tuning attempts: - Throttlestop will not let me do any voltage adjustments whatsoever, but i can tweak wattage limits a bit. highest ive seen so far was roughly 120W on the CPU (makes sense, Techpowerup's review of the 12600 noted a max power draw of 117W when wattage unlocked) - I can also not do any multi adjustment via TS, only disable the turbo. this is very disappointing, since i usually use TS to artificially throttle the CPU when on battery to prolong system lifetime... - I now have an idea why I am heat throttling so quickly: both cpu and gpu throttling limits seem to be set somewhere in the 80s C range, way too low to let the CPU stretch its legs properly. GPU however rarely even reaches 70C. - Intel XTU will not even install on the system! apparently it is not compatible... - no GPU core OC possible, i can only OC the vRAM. some quick testing revealed bench stable at +1500 Mhz, but +2000 Mhz crashed. looking good i would say! 😄 ha, this actually sounds like someone took a stock laptop and then modded it NBR / NBT style 😄 aside from the full BGA, well executed!
  15. out of the two i would tend to get the latter, since IoT has a significantly longer support time range. functionally, theyre both the same.
  16. dude, this is flippin awesome! very impressive, kudos to the seldmade dual psu 😁 i might be selling off my 980m when i switch to desktop in several months, but thats still a bit off.
  17. alrighty, took me a good day and a half to sort the stuff with my machine not properly booting with only two ram sticks installed. i finally decided to do a cmos pull, at which point i was greeted with a black screen. weird enough, external screen DID actually show an output. in the end it turned out that either cpu or gpu werent properly reinstalled after i had done some maintenance and repasting, so did it all over again and now everything's back to normal. aaaaaaaaaanyhow, back to topic: making good progress in setting up my lady's machine, done with windows, drivers and most of the programs & games. what ive noticed though: holy guacamole 12th gen runs HOT! ðŸ˜ą like, wtf? the 12600 shes got installed is at PL1 90W and PL2 150W in perf. mode (full stock for now, no tuning yet via TS), and easily hits 90C+ with thermal throttling under load with clocks around 4.2-4.4 ghz. really wondering if i messed up the repaste with kryonaut or if theres an issue with cold plate contact, hmmm....lets finish the setup first, then ill check what can be done. in any case, the fans get LOUD once the cpu hits full bore, my lady aint gonna like that 😅
  18. rofl, i totally got that reference @editorial direction change 😁 also, i like where this is going with the accelero, keep us updated on that bro 😉😋
  19. haha its indeed good to be back in full force! i just installed the modded 512.54 desktop driver by XtremeG on my lady`s new machine sporting the 3070M Ti, seems to be running smoothly, so for now no need to update. besides, the upcoming Prema magic will do much more than just another broken driver update 😄
  20. word. best tactic with windows updates is to delay them a few weeks / months and only then install them (if at all). been running like that for years now and no issues whatsoever 🙂 @Aaron44126 currently setting up my lady's new machine (Clevo NH55JNNQ) and installed a modded WIn11 by this group here: https://phoenixliteos.com/ anyone tried them before? i chose their WIn11 Pro Plus build version 22000.652 and i must say i am very pleased! super small install size, very low ram usage and basically no cpu cycles used up and all tweaks n options that i usually add to my win installs already implemented. add to that that its free since the project is based on donations only. you should check them out and give them a try 🙂
  21. aaaaah, another NBR tradition transferred, i love it. let the driver wars begin ðŸĪŠ
  22. its sad that Intel does not allow those additional 4 OC bins anymore on non-K mobile chips. the recent trends are a bit worrying, even undervolting is being blocked nowadays, ugh... but in any case, this same fact makes playing around with older gen hardware all the more fun. enjoy, guys 🙂
  23. thats impressive, id actually expect the opposite = thermal paste more even core temps, since the carbonaut pad is so super thin...
