  1. so guys, i might have some good news! i was looking around for a good source / pricing on the above 280W PSU and then i thought to myself: why stop there? so i searched for 300W models that might be compatible, and lo and behold: i found a 330W Delta model with our 5.5x2.5 mm barrel plug connector! 🤠😁😎 43% more wattage headroom, anyone? 😉 Model number is: Delta ADP-330ABD However, as with the Chicony 280W psu above, u need to check which connector it sports, since there are several submodels, the most widely available one with the 4 or 6 prongs. BUT there is indeed a model with our barrel connector as mentioned 🙂 Sources im currently looking at for Europe: Chicony 280W = https://www.laptop-ac-adapter.de/chicony-a18-280p1a-netzteil-78662.html#2567 Delta 330W = https://www.laptop-ac-adapter.de/netzteile-delta-19.5v-16.9a-330w-in-deutschland-2525.html# funny enough, the Delta is actually cheaper than the Chicony LOL
  2. its not the same but the overall aim is similar, i.e. unlock bios options, provide more performance, allow hardware upgrades, etc.
  3. depends, some laptops have that "battery boost" feature *cough* where the system draws additional power from the battery during high loads when needed since the psu is only designed to just baaaaaarely handle the system wattages... ull have to check if that also applies to your model or not.
  4. iirc they should be compatible, make sure to check NBC reviews of the two models, they definitely show the heatsinks as well. i should know since i had both systems but ZM has been a while back haha. as for the LCD, u can try the following trick: search for ur own lcd and the eurocom models listed on this website: https://www.panelook.com/ check their dimensions and cable types / connections and then use the search engine to filter for displays with the same dimensions and cables. that way ull get an idea of whats out there. can then search for such panels on ebay or aliexpress. for example, in my ZM i originally had a panasonic "3K" display installed that was between an FHD and UHD resolution, basically 1440p-like. so there are definitely more options! just make sure that ur mobo has the required display connectors, be it LVDS or the newer eDP with the respective cable width / pin number. sometimes mobos have both connector traces but only one of the two is actually active / connector soldered in place.
  5. sure bud, always happy to promote our resident unicorn phoenix master hahaha intel igpu is actually smth that most of the time cannot be tweaked much in terms of functionality. there are three types of systems with regards to igpu: 1) igpu disabled (physically cut off) with discrete gpu only 2) igpu and dgpu active, but only automated switching possible via optimus-like implementation (all output is being routed through igpu) 3) igpu and dgpu active, manual switching possible through a hardware mux, so output can either come from igpu or dgpu in all three instances, functionality always stays the same as stock. so if the igpu is not functional at stock, theres usually no way to activate it via firmware since the physical traces are missing on the motherboard. its basically unheard of that the igpu would be disabled via firmware only, with the hardware traces implemented nonetheless... as for acquiring the premamod... humtz, thats always a tricky one. it used to be donation based and freely available back in the day up to 900M series, nowadays its usually only available together with a newly bought system from a prema partner shop. but u can always try to contact Prema himself and offer up a personal donation (hes also got an account here at NBT btw). im personally not intimately familiar with the P775TM1, but im aware that it originally started off with 8 series cpus and 10 series pascal gpus and later was able to sport 9 series cpus and 20 series turing gpus. as for ampere 30 series gpus, mxm versions are still far and few between. id first check and see if ure able to source them anywhere, then check the physical dimensions and heatsink compatibility first. only once uve taken care of those hurdles can u consider continuing with a firmware mod (if even necessary, sometimes theyre plug n play firmware wise with just driver inf mod needed).
  6. oh yeah, um....could u please pull out the cpu or gpu real quick? wanna check something.....yeah, sure, ill wait A WEEK TO LET THE COMPONENTS FULLY DRIP OFF! 😂
  7. theres a sister model with an AM4 socket that can take up to a 5950X, but no other LGA1700 socket laptop as far as im aware. definitely not socketable CPU paired with a mobile 3080 Ti around. however, this might change by fall/winter this year, lets see....hoping for the best 😅 in any case, the 3070 Ti in this system is actually trading blows with a 3080 Laptop and only lacks like 5-10% vs a 3080 Ti due to higher available TDP and desktop CPU, have a looksie: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Eurocom-Raptor-X15-review-LGA1700-Core-i7-12700K-in-a-laptop.620093.0.html https://www.techspot.com/review/2433-geforce-rtx-3070-ti-laptop/
  8. oh boy, where to start 😄 its a few very BIG things, a lot of smaller things and a gazillion little things (under the hood) that makes PremaMOD stand out. it starts with way way more customization options for all components of your system, be it cpu, ram, gpu, TPM, I/O, Sound, Display, Mux, etc. that includes suboptions for over and underclocking, voltages, power limits, amperage limits, suspend timings, enabling and disabling features, timings, etc. then were talking updates to ME firmware, cpu microcodes, RAM and gpu settings, letting u use hardware that is normally not able to run in the system. examples include higher RAM speeds (i.e. above the current standard 3200 Mhz limit), newer cpus that are physically compatible with the socket in the system but are officially not supported by the firmware (i.e. 9900K in a Z170 laptop which only supports 6700K and/or 7700K) or being able to upgrade to newer gen gpus (i.e. going from a stock 1080 to a 2080 or even a 3080, albeit sometimes a few hardware modifications are required there). furthermore, PremaMOD includes under the hood stuff that enables higher and more stable performance for both CPU and GPU. both processors and graphics cards tend to have unstable boost algorithms where clocks tend to fluctuate wildly instead of holding steady because of power and voltage limits imposed by the stock firmware. PremaMOD tends to remove a lot of that crap, giving u much higher and more stable boost clocks. sure, there are a lot of people just "unlocking" hidden options in the stock bios and saying its the same. but thats basically just scratching the surface. they are only slapping a new coat of paint on a Prius, whereas Prema basically replaces the whole friggin engine, the suspension, provides a set of BIGASS rims, lowers the whole chassis, tints the windows, installs an afterburner with nitrous boost and much more, thus u rather end up with a beastly Lambo sporting a "harmless" prius exterior 😄
  9. ok in THAT context wireless makes total sense haha
  10. hey papu and fox, how about ONE P core clocked to 6 Ghz paired with 63 flimsy wuss cores = 64 cores in mainstream desktop FTW! (with 65 threads LOL) just enough to get that single thread crown and "supposedly" win in games 😂
  11. me and my lady started watching the Fantastic Beasts trilogy today. i had seen the first part previously already, but its been ages. and dont remember watching the second one, so might as well just start off fresh, amirite? (she hasnt seen any, so made sense 😛 )
  12. cool man, thanks for the input 🙂
  13. currently watching the video, soooo much SCHADENFREUDE, its not even funny anymore 😛 let the vendors, shops and Nvidia buuuuuuuurn after making so much shameful profit these past 2 years, yehaw!
  14. just beware that if u offer it to the community here, expect lower offers since members here tend to be more in the know regarding hardware pricing 😄 so id maybe expect more like 350€ instead due to used and no warranty.
  15. unuseable in what way? too slow? no infrastructure? too pricey?
  16. yep had the same thing happen to me recently, was also pleasantly surprised. however, i think i read somewhere that in case they find something funky with ur return, theyll just charge ur amazon account 😛
  17. thats a pretty sweet service to the community, thanks bud!
  18. a quick look on sold 2070 Super FE models on ebay suggests an average price of 450€. compared to that, u can get an RTX 3060 or an RX 6650XT gpu new for a bit less (starting at 400€ for a 3060 and 410€ for a 6650XT). the 3060 is a tad slower than the 2070 Super, with the 6650 XT a tad faster, so the 2070 Super slots right in between. considering the performance, i would say 400€ would be a fair price (probably a bit less due to used an no warranty i guess?), but if u can get more on fleabay id say go for it 🙂 with a bit of luck u can maybe squeeze out 450-500€ for it.
  19. movies (~2800), tv shows (141) and games (56), my friend! 😄 they are currently totaling about 5.4 TB, so my 2x4 TB 860 Evos are now 75% filled 😛 curious to see how much longer they will last haha
  20. out of reactions for today, so thumbs up to that! in any case, u definitely dont think like the majority of buyers. regular joe is just impatient, so gets "whatever is available" NAO and gets instant buyers remorse after a day or so 😛 btw, ive been saving up for 2.5 years now, hows THAT FOR BEING IMPATIENT?!?!?!? *gimme newgen already* 😄
  21. rumor mill says Nvidia already postponed the 40 series launch by a month. funny thing is, they cannot push it back too much, otherwise they will fall behind AMD launching first and missing out on the "next-gen" hype 😄 dont u just love them big players getting in trouble? 😛
  22. ...and there is no way im getting a 4090 Ti knowing that 5000 series is lurking around the corner just a few short months later. when looking at overall time frame, a 4090 makes more sense because itll be top dog for 1.5 years, vs. the 4090 Ti for barely 6 months (this is, of course, based on the 3000 series release cycle. if the 4090 Ti is only released shortly after the 4090 that would change things). this issue is also being complicated due to the 4090 Ti vs 4090 gap looking much larger than the current 3090 vs 3090 ti. its tricky! and yes, this was also the first time i started considering buying the best of an outgoing generation....i.e. going for the 3090 Ti shortly after the 40 series has launched. in any case, first world problems 😁
