    Ghost File

yeah would have suggested smth similar as @Aaron44126 before, i.e. with a linux live distro booting from a usb. otherwise i would have tried to alter the access rights on that particular file. dll files / system files sometimes need special access to be altered by the user. in any case, glad u got it sorted out so quickly πŸ™‚
  3. what keeps me away from buying used phones is the battery. id have to research first how good the support for that particular phone model is by third party shops able to replace the battery first before making such a decision.
  4. plus Nvidia has to provide support during the development of the add-in boards, with regards to layout, power requirements, cooling requirements, etc. plus deliver the chips and vRAM, of course πŸ˜› haha again, nice background info!
  5. that is waaaaaaaaay lower than the comfort limit, for sure πŸ™‚ anything below 90 can be ignored, 90 to 95 is still ok as long as its not throttling and not running like that for hours on end.
  6. nah beelining is a different thing altogether. i was referring to the 100% completion u stated πŸ™‚ ok cool, 120 hours is definitely nothing to sniff at, extensive game for sure!
  7. if the fit is perfect and u can apply only barely enough to "wetten" the die and respective heatsink surface, then yes. if not ull want to look into foam dams surrounding the dies
  8. how long did it take u to complete Elden Ring? here i thought it was quite the expansive open world game πŸ˜…
  9. dont worry too much about idle temps, load temps are much more important πŸ˜‰
  10. important thing when checking thermal paste and related temps is the ambient temp. ull always need to calculate the delta between component temps and ambient temps. for every additional degree ambient ull get an additional degree heat on all your components, unfortunate fact.
  11. haha way to go to recruit some (hopefully competent) help πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ
  12. haha yep agreed on those points guys. once u go premamod its VERY hard to go back to stock bios on a laptop....
  13. sometimes its not that straight forward. doesnt have to be the paste itself, it might be its age (dried up), bad heatsink fit, the amount applied (too little, too much), etc. so first things to check would be heatsink fit with a fresh paste application and compare if fresh paste by itself already helps. after that u can tune for high-end pastes and get those "up to 6C" difference under ideal conditions πŸ™‚ as for the thermal pads, high end ones tend to draw away the heat from the core components and can actually also lower core temps just by improving the overall board temps.
  14. loooots to choose from my man: KPx, Phobya NanoGrease Extreme, Kryonaut Extreme, ICD, GC Extreme.... πŸ˜› edit: bro @electrosoft beat me to the punch πŸ™‚
  15. id go with a simple repaste first, those out of the factory paste jobs are not always the best πŸ˜… then take it from there, check the heatsink to die fitting to determine if liquid metal would even make sense, then also consider replacing thermal pads with higher end ones.
  16. smart way to go about this @looking for used but current hardware πŸ™‚ good luck!
  17. good luck with the sale, quite the beast ure offering there!
  18. i get that, basically same reason why im planning to switch to desktop land soon, as well...
  19. kool, thats of course an even better solution πŸ™‚
  20. curious to see if the release will affect the overall linux adoption rate on desktop!
  21. we all NEED to scratch that itch✌😁
  22. hows that steam deck treating ya? i can see u applied skins right away haha
  23. sure if u know ur way around such electronics repairs, totally! πŸ™‚
  24. wouldnt surprise me in the least if absolutely nothing changed on the bga pinout and its running juuust fine with newer cpu gens. so much for the artificial BS socket change every other cpu gen, at least with intel....
  25. ok cool, thx for that bud. as far as i can tell space is definitely a concern (as usual in a laptop), combined with the actual mounting. will have to check and see if the heatsink mounting is compatible and the backplate plays ball with the contact frame... will let you guys know once i know more! right now still enjoying my vacay in greece 😁 btw, fun fact: seems like Bitwit Kyle Hansen was in greece at the same time, but i bet he had quite the different kinda trip hahaha
