at least not YET 😄

u might want to try older versions of the power manager, might be that the current version have a minimum windows version requirement inbuilt. the only issues ive had so far with ltsc 2019 based on w10 1809 were such instances.

btw guys, i thought id leave this here 😁 Notes: - heated up the IHS with a hair dryer set to max setting for 60 seconds - the popping came pretty quick, but the force required was quite substantial (original IHS is still good, no visible dents) - once the IHS pops, itll still stick to the package, DONT take it off like a latch (upward motion perpendicular to the package), rather turn n twist it (sideways motion in parallel to the package) to reduce the risk of disattaching the cpu die from the package 😅 - saturating the inner side of the copper IHS with liquid metal overnight now lets get to the tedious chore of removing the silicone glue from the cpu package....ugh edit: ok, took me roughly an hour for the glue removal, the included wooden pick in the rockit cool kit actually helped a lot here! enough for today, ill continue with the indium solder removal tomorrow...

oh we know, thats not the point haha. point is to get the max performance out of that chip without throttling or overheating 😛 admittedly, the tweaking headroom is not that vast with the 12600 but there is still considerable performance to be had. @GT3000 here is the TS config (full folder) with Profile 1 for High Performance, Profile 3 for travel psu adapter (max. 90-100W power draw) and profile 4 for battery (max power savings everything) Throttlestop NH55JNNQ 12600.zip

ha sure, but ill have to rummage around in the system ssd externally since the machine is currently still in pieces 😋 also be mindful that with those tweaks the cpu will run much hotter and will likely impact battery life.

sweet, always good to see a blackscreen event turning out well 🙂

ure right in this regard, the only reason why nvidia still keeps supporting standard mxm design cards for quadro type gpus (most recent example is the A4500 based on ampere) is their contractual requirement by existing military, industrial, medical and scientific systems that still use these kinds of cards. lucky for us this also gives us a way forward, albeit ultra expensive one @3500 USD for a single A4500 😅
-
no worries on that front, looks like NBT is growing slow n steady to become a nice successor to NBR 😁 keep up the amazing work!
-
duuude thats a crazy loss of performance on auto fans, were talking like -33% 😅 also, you can squeeze out another ~15% multicore perf out of your 12600 with some throttlestop tweaking / repasting / repadding.

its kind of a mixed bag. in theory u can install ec and bios completely independently from each other, but there is always a chance that new ec / old bios or old ec / new bios arent compatible with one another.- 33 replies

huh thats weird. but i remember that i actually disabled VMD right off the bat while diving into BIOS, following the rule of thumb: disable anything u dont need to lean the firmware 😛

in general its best to flash everything in one, because there might be some incompatibilities between older / newer versions of EC/EC2/Bios.- 33 replies

in general, dsanke bios has made a good impression in the community, u can check the NBR archive for the respective Dsanke threads for more info. just make sure u have the correct bios for ur machine. the blind flash is tricky, as its name implies 😄 u basically keep Fn+B pressed, then press power button and only let it go after "a while". it helps to use a usb stick with an inbuilt LED, so that u at least know when it starts to be accessed. without that, ull just have to make a "best guess", i.e. let it sit for like 20-30 minutes to make 100% sure the flash went through. then shut down the machine (unless it does so by itself), power it on again and hope for the best! for the inbuilt recovery to work your bios image has to have a specific format and file naming though, its different for every clevo machine....- 33 replies
